This document sets out the work that the Audit Commission plans to undertake in the local government, housing, criminal justice and fire and rescue sectors in 2008/09 and the associated scales of audit and inspection fees. It also sets out indicative fee proposals for 2009/10 and 2010/11.

National Indicators for Local Authorities and Local Authority Partnerships: Handbook of Definitions (1st April 2008)
This publication below gives final detailed definitions for 198 national indicators following consultation on their proposed definition. Following receipt of the responses and discussion with other Government Departments, the Government has decided to drop one indicator, NI 31 - Re-offending by registered sex offenders, and added one new indicator on play - NI 199. 185 national indicators will come into force on 1 April 2008. The remaining 13 indicators will be subject to further consultation in the summer before final definitions for them can be released.
