This research paper reports on ESCAPE (Effectiveness and Safety of Chest Pain Assessment to Prevent Emergency admissions) trial. This was a randomised controlled trial of hospitals to evaluate whether CPU (Chest Pain Unit) care provided an acceptable, effective and cost-effective alternative to routine care.
