Healthcare for London have announced plans to ensure that everyone with diabetes in London receives world class care. According to this report, from Diabetes UK, around 85% of adults with diabetes in the UK lack access to specialist psychological support and care. It forund that only 25% of diabetes services can name and supply contact details for people who provide specialist psychological care.

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) has found that almost 23,000 children and young people have diabetes in England - a figure higher than previous estimates. This snapshot survey gives accurate numbers of children and young people under the age of 18 with diabetes of any type in England.
