In-depth analysis of road crashes involving older drivers aged over 60. A sample of over 2,000 police files from three midland UK police forces was reviewed, providing a database including the main objective features, a summary narrative, a sketch plan and a list of explanatory factors. The analysis identifies the types of collisions older drivers are involved in, with particular attention to the driving situations and tasks that are most likely to present them difficulties.
