Tailor-made resources...bespoke tools for Induction of Labour and Osteoporosis (January 2009)
NICE aim to respond to the needs of the NHS to help clinicians, managers and organisations implement NICE Guidance. Their planning process seeks advice from representatives of relevant groups involved in providing care, from clinical specialists to patient groups. Sometimes a little extra help is needed with specific pieces of guidance, Induction of Labour and Osteoporosis are two recent examples.

New Commissioning Guides (January 2009)
Four new commissioning guides are now available to help the NHS in England effectively commission evidence-based care for patients. The guides cover services for:
• otitis media with effusion
• patient education for people with diabetes type 2
• diagnosis and initial management of stroke
• diagnosis and initial management of transient ischaemic attack

Coeliac disease: guideline consultation (15th January 2009)
A clinical practice guideline on Coeliac disease is being developed for use in the NHS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The provisional recommendations do not constitute the Institute's formal guidance on this topic and they may change after consultation. Closing date for comments is 12th February 2009.

Neuropathic pain (adults) - pharmacological management (non-specialist settings): scope consultation (16th January 2009)
NICE have been asked to develop a clinical practice guideline on Neuropathic pain - pharmacological management for use in the NHS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The draft scope defines what aspects of care the guideline will cover and to whom it will apply. Closing date for comments is 13th February 2009.
