Genitourinary Medicine 48 hour access: getting to target and staying there (19th February 2008)
This good practice guide provides primary care trusts (PCTs) with a number of key recommendations to help support clinics to reach the Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) 48-hour access target by March 2008, reduce the gap between offered and seen and maintain that level of access. These measures build on the 10 High Impact Changes for Genitourinary Medicine 48-hour Access (HIC)1 published by the Department of Health (DH) in December 2006. It should be used in conjunction with the HIC where PCT commissioners and their providers have considered and implemented, as appropriate, changes but are still looking to improve services.
