Claiming Asylum at a Screening Unit as an Unaccompanied Child (3rd March 2008)
A new report out today (3 March) by the Children’s Commissioner uncovers a series of unacceptable practices faced by unaccompanied children when they apply for asylum in the UK. The report has a series of recommendations aimed at improving how staff at the Border and Immigration Agency communicate with asylum-seeking children and keep them safe throughout the screening process.
