Use of NHS number in social care: policy statement (22nd April 2009)
Ministers have decided that the NHS number may be used in social care for the purpose of linking social care as well as NHS records. This statement sets out the policy on which the decision was based. The NHS Connecting for Health NHS Number Team are developing advice on the processes and standards to support this recent policy decision.
